Gregory Porter postpones UK Tour
Gregory Porter has postponed his UK dates by nearly a year
Jazz superstar Gregory Porter has postponed his UK dates by nearly a year because of the coronavirus outbreak.
In the announcement, the singer wrote "My dear friends, I'm so sorry to announce my May 2020 UK shows have been rescheduled due to the current corona-virus outbreak. Hold on to your existing tickets. They will automatically be transferred to the new dates. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reschedule Newcastle and Hull. For those dates, please go back to your point of purchase."
His shows that were supposed to take place in May have now been rescheduled to March 2021, including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and a run at the Royal Albert Hall.
Despite the Gregory's brother being hospitalised with coronavirus, he says he’s staying positive. He recently revealed to Ben Beaumont-Thomas (The Guardian) that he's taking solace during a time of personal difficulty in the music of "the late Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke and Nat King Cole, that’s the palette of sounds playing in my house."
The singer has recently released his latest track from the upcoming All Rise album - "Thank You" - where he's published a video talking about the song.
All Rise is set to be released, having been delayed, on the 28th of August 2020 via Decca / Blue Note Records.
