A new documentary about jazz singer Gregory Porter is to make its World Premiere at London’s BFI on Wednesday November 2nd.

An independent production directed by film maker Alfred Bailey, ‘Don’t Forget Your Music’ spans Porter’s life and career with exclusive access during the recording of his new album. The film, shot over four years, also explores in detail some of the trials that Porter has encountered in his life: the absence of his father growing up and how jazz music filled the void, racial hostility in his hometown, and his triumphant journey to musical success.

The screening will also feature a Q&A session with Gregory Porter and the film makers.
