Grammy Awards 2016 nomination list - A who's who of Jazz FM favourites
The 58th GRAMMY awards takes place on February 15th 2016. The full list of nominations has now been announced and it features a number of regularly played Jazz FM artists.
The 58th GRAMMY awards takes place on February 15th 2016. The full list of nominations has now been announced and it features a number of regularly played Jazz FM favourites.
Notable inclusions are New Orleans-based drummer and vocalist Jamison Ross on his album debut and Cécile McLorin Salvant for Best Vocal Jazz Album, 11 year old piano prodigy Joey Alexander, Terence Blanchard and E-Collective and Robert Glasper for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Marcus Miller, Kirk Whalum and Snarky Puppy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. All of these have been extensively featured on Jazz FM. Eliane Elias' 'Made In Brasil' is up for Best Latin Jazz Album, D'Angelo and the Vanguard's 'Black Messiah' for Best R&B Album and Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote for Best R&B Performance. There's a nod to Best Regional Roots Album for British New Orleans-based blues man Jon Cleary and his new album 'GoGo Juice'. Legendary crooner Tony Bennett and pianist Bill Charlap are nominated for 'The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern' in Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
