After two editions of his r&b/jazz fusion project ’Black Radio’, Grammy Award-winning pianist Robert Glasper is to return to his piano trio for the next release ‘Covered’ due on Blue Note Records June 16th.

Glasper re-unites with bassist Vincente Archer and drummer Damion Reid who performed on his earlier releases ‘Canvas’ and ‘In My Element’. The new record features three Glasper originals. He returns to the Radiohead songbook once again for ‘Reckoner’ plus Joni Mitchell’s 1972 classic ’Barangrill’ and his own take on rapper Kendrick Lamar’s ‘I’m Dying Of Thirst’.

Musiq Soulchild fans might enjoy Glasper’s version of his Grammy nominated r&b classic ’So Beautiful’ which he has already been performing live with the trio. Veteran singer Harry Belafonte also makes a guest appearance on the song ‘Got Over’ which he co wrote with Glasper and there’s a version of John Legend’s ‘Good Morning’.

Glasper has been working on the music for Don Cheadle's Miles Davis film, ‘Miles Ahead’ and the trio is currently playing a series of live dates until March 1st at New York’s Village Vanguard.
