FORQ, a new all-star ensemble including Snarky Puppy’s bass playing front man Michael League, are set to play Ronnie Scott’s in London on Sunday July 5th and Band On The Wall in Manchester on Monday July 6th.
FORQ, a new all-star ensemble including Snarky Puppy’s bass playing front man Michael League, are set to play Ronnie Scott’s in London on Sunday July 5th and Band On The Wall in Manchester on Monday July 6th. This will be part of their first ever European tour.
The band comprises Henry Hey, founder of the band Rudder, on keyboards (Jeff “Tain” Watts, David Bowie), Snarky Puppy founder and Grammy Award-winner Michael League on bass, Foe Destroyer founder and fellow Snarky Puppy member Chris McQueen on guitar and Jason “JT” Thomas on drums (Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor, Marcus Miller, D’Angelo.)
Having already made an impact with their self titled debut album FORQ are to release the follow up ‘Batch’ on Michael League's GroundUp label on June 7th.
Michael League and Jason Thomas both hail from Texas and established their friendship and musical rapport through almost two years of weekly gigs in legendary keyboardist Bernard Wright’s trio. When he moved to the east coast, League teamed up with Henry Hey. Chris McQueen is Texan too, from Austin, and recently joined the group. They are rooted deep in a distinctly southern groove, but with both the fire and inventiveness that NYC is known for.
