Award-winning pianist Michel Camilo is to play his first ever solo piano concert in the UK at London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday June 13th.

Pianist Michel Camilo is to play his first ever solo piano concert in the UK at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday June 13th.

Grammy, Latin Grammy and Emmy Award winning Camilo hails from the Dominican Republic and plays classical, Latin and jazz piano. His influences include Chick Corea, Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett. His career spans four decades and his early profile was raised significantly when he joined Latin jazz percussionist Tito Puente’s band as a stand-in. He was immediately asked to tour for two years with Cuban saxophonist and clarinettist Paquito D'Rivera who noted his performance.
