A new vinyl boxset of Fela Kuti's music has been announced

A brand-new vinyl boxset of Fela Kuti's music has been revealed, curated by Fela's son Femi Kuti, the world-renowned multi-instrumentalist, and Chris Martin (of Coldplay).

The new boxset - Fela Boxset #5 - contains 7 of Fela's of classic albums - Why Black Man Dey Suffer, Noise for Vendor Mouth, Kalakuta Show, Excuse O, Ikoyi Blindness, Original Sufferhead, and O.D.O.O (Overtake Don Overtake Overtake).

Each of the records has had its artwork meticulously recreated from the original pressings.

Each of the 4,000 boxsets will contain a 20-page booklet that features introductions from both Chris Martin and Femi Kuti, alongside in-depth commentaries and more.

Previous curators of the Fela Kuti vinyl boxset series includes Erykah Badu, Questlove, Brian Eno and drummer Ginger Baker, who performed and recorded with Fela.

When will Fela Box Set #5 be released?

Created by Knitting Factory Records, Fela Box Set #5 will be released on 10 December 2021.
