Grammy winning bassist and singer Esperanza Spalding has announced an inventive new concept for recording her next album – the entire process will be streamed on Facebook. It’s called ‘Exposure’ and will be live for 77 hours (just over 3 days), starting on September 12 with musicians writing, composing, recording and producing in front of the cameras.

When the time is up, whatever has been recorded will be sent out to 7,777 fans who have pre-ordered a blank CD to put it on. You can see the announcement video below.

Esperanza, who is 32, has recently curated a modern art exhibition in New York City, and has joined the Harvard University music department as a guest lecturer.
