Even though the Atlanta Falcons NFL team told their fans this weekend’s game against the Detroit Lions would be played in Spain, international jazz singer Dianne Reeves will be at the venue, London’s Wembley, this Sunday to sing the national anthem before they play.

Dianne is currently touring this side of the pond for her latest album ‘Beautiful Life’ with dates including Ronnie Scott’s 28th to 30th October. The album features her late cousin George Duke, Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, Esperanza Spalding and more. A super cool version of Bob Marley’s ‘Waiting In Vain’ from the album has featured consistently for the last year on Jazz FM.

Sunday's game is part of the NFL International Series which has been a roaring success at Wembley, with sellout crowds even greater than some recent England football internationals. It will be shown live on TV in the US as well as here in the UK. Born in Detroit, Reeves remarks, "Of course I am a Lions fan’, but she holds a special place in her heart for the Denver Broncos, her home team, so she’s relieved they’re not playing each other.
