Pianist Chick Corea has teamed up with Yamaha for an online challenge.
He’s encouraging budding composers to write more during the lockdown and calling for them to write seven new songs in seven days and upload them to social media.
The initiative comes from Yamaha Music and the brand is encouraging musicians of all abilities to get involved and share their talents with a global audience. With other leading artists ready to launch their own challenges in the weeks to come.
In a video outlining the challenge, the pianist added, "The idea is, if you want to be a composer - you compose."
He says while people are still largely confined to home, this is a perfect chance to compose as much as possible.
