Chick Corea amongst nominees for Best Latin Jazz album at Latin Grammys

The 15th Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 20th, put on by The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

The 15th Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 20th in Las Vegas. Put on by The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the awards are for outstanding achievement for music produced anywhere in the world that was recorded in either Spanish or Portuguese.

Best Latin Jazz Album nominees include work by pianist Chick Corea, Cuban saxophonist and clarinettist Paquito D’Rivera, Colombian six string bassist ’Snow Owl’, big band leader and pianist Arturo O’Farrill and Venezuelan percussionist Luisito Quintero.

In terms of geographical success Brazil tops the awards tally, followed by Mexico, Spain, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
