Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2020 lineup announced
Global Stars are set to perform at Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2020.
The full lineup has just been revealed for the 2020 Cheltenham Jazz Festival, which takes over the Gloucestershire town for 6 days over the early May bank holiday weekend.
Under the festival’s Artistic Curator Gregory Porter, they’ve now announced shows from Beverley Knight, Imelda May, Emeli Sande and KC and the Sunshine Band.
Guy Barker will lead a New Orleans themed concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra, while there’s vocal giants Norma Winstone, Stacey Kent and Liane Carroll. Tony Allen will pay tribute to his friend Hugh Masekela with a new live show and bluesman Keb’ Mo’ will bring his recent Grammy-winning project ‘Oklahoma’. The London scene is well represented with afrobeat outfit KOKOROKO, guitarist Oscar Jerome and collective Steam Down all appearing at the festival.
Taste-making DJ Gilles Peterson takes up a residency at Warehouse @ The Brewery Quarter - a new pop-up venue, where in addition to his own DJ set will showcase a variety of hot UK acts, such as alt-singer-songwriter Rosie Lowe, punk jazzers Melt Yourself Down and the genre-bending Nubiyan Twist.
General tickets go on sale to the public from the 4th March with the event itself running from the 5th May.
