Candi Staton’s new album due for late October release.

The First Lady of Southern Soul returns with her 27th studio album, ‘Life Happens’ on October 27th.

Candi Staton, known for the classic hits ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ and ‘You Got The Love’ ventures down the Americana/Roots path, a different change in direction from the Soul/Disco sound for which she is famed for.

‘Life Happens’ pairs Staton with FAME records producer Rick Hall for the first time since 1974 when they worked on the hits ‘Stand By Your Man’ and ‘He Called Me Baby’.

The project comes on the heels of a revival of Staton’s music among a new generation of artists. Florence & The Machine enjoyed a Top Ten platinum smash with their cover of Staton’s “You Got the Love”.

‘Life Happens’ will be available on all formats.
