Brian Auger and Oblivion Express return for UK tour

British R&B hit maker and Hammond B3 organist Brian Auger, now living in California, is set for a welcome return to the UK for a tour starting this Monday November 2 at London’s Jazz Cafe.

In September Freestyle Records released ‘Back To The Beginning: The Brian Auger Anthology,’ a retrospective of his work. On October 30 the same label releases Auger’s ‘Live in Los Angeles’ album, recorded a couple of years back at the Baked Potato venue with his band Oblivion Express featuring vocalist Alex Ligertwood. The live album contains a storming 7 minute workout of Auger’s 1973 classic ‘Happiness is Just Around The Bend,’ currently getting plenty of air time on Jazz FM.

Their Jazz Café date will see a reunion with former Oblivion Express member, British guitarist Jim Mullen, and is set to be the first time Auger and Ligertwood have played with Mullen since the 1970s.
