In a surprise move iconic singer Bob Dylan is to release an album of standards, made popular by crooner Frank Sinatra. The album is due for release February 3rd and called ‘Shadows In The Night.’
Dylan self produced the album and has been a long time fan and friend of Sinatra and this album, his 36th, includes ten new recordings in a small ensemble setting as opposed to the big band with most of Sinatra’s classics.
Dylan commented, “It was a real privilege to make this album. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time but was never brave enough to approach 30-piece complicated arrangements and refine them down for a five-piece band.” He is currently on tour where he has performed one or two of the numbers from the new album.
