The music charity responsible for Birmingam’s Town Hall and Symphony Hall are turning the volume up on three Black artists from the West Midlands, who’ve been invited to compose musical responses on the theme of racism.

Pianist and singer Reuben James, drummer and producer Romarna Campbell and rising star saxophonist (and Jazz FM Awards 2020 nominee) Xhosa Cole will all receive funding for their new commissions.

Today, we have the exclusive first play of all three performances.

The team behind the city’s Town Hall Symphony Hall's Jazzlines programme say this is just one way they support the creative and professional development of artists throughout their career.
