Exciting young British duo Binker and Moses are to perform at London’s Cockpit Theatre on Monday September 28. Tenor saxophonist Binker Golding and drummer Moses Boyd will showcase music from their vinyl-only album ‘Dem Ones’ as part of a triple bill at the monthly event ‘Jazz In The Round.’

Binker and Moses came through bassist and educator Gary Crosby’s Tomorrow’s Warriors jazz development programme, playing together in various groups including vocalist Zara McFarlane’s band. ’Dem Ones’ is their debut recording as a duo, improvised music born from ideas from many sound checks together, with echoes of John Coltrane and Rashied Ali. All the tracks were performed in the live room at Mark Ronson’s Zelig Studio and recorded direct a vintage Studer 1/4" tape machine next door at Gearbox Records.

Headlining the evening will be trumpeter Noel Langley's six-piece Edentide Ensemble, a synthesis of orchestration and improvisation, and for openers On The Slide, the reformation of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra trombone band formerly known as Bone Structure led by Chris Valentine.
