BBC Music Jazz full schedule announced
The programme schedule for the forthcoming BBC Music Jazz pop up digital radio station in collaboration with the Jazz FM and EFG London Jazz Festival has been released.
Jazz FM and BBC Music have announced the programme schedule for the forthcoming BBC Music Jazz pop up Digital radio station in collaboration with the EFG London Jazz Festival.
Broadcasting from 12th-15th November across the UK, highlights from the four days include an opening programme from Jamie Cullum and masterclasses from musicians Tim Garland and Laurence Cottle.
There's also a celebration for Billie Holiday's centenary and Geoffrey Smith and Helen Mayhew countdown the 50 Greatest Jazz Artists as voted for by you. Each evening at 6pm, there will be an hour of programmes from Jazz FM, including on Thursday November 12 our 1990 Royal Albert Hall launch night concert from Ella Fitzgerald and the Count Basie Orchestra, on Friday November 13 the recent documentary ‘Neil n’ Dud’ presented by British pianist and band leader Neil Cowley about his love of comedian and brilliant musician Dudley Moore and special editions of Dinner Jazz. Chris Philips will also present a special hour long edition of his programme The Blueprint at 6pm Saturday November 14, focussing on new jazz.
