Avishai Cohen to play London's Barbican

Israeli bass player Avishai Cohen will play London’s Barbican on July 16th with his sextet New York Division featuring top New York musicians. Guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, Diego Urcola on trumpet and trombonist Steve Davis will feature along with his core trio of rising star Israeli players Nitai Hershkovits on piano and Daniel Dor on drums.

Cohen has built a solid reputation as one of the world's leading bassists having performed with Chick Corea and as a leader over the last two decades. His latest recording is a powerful trio album ‘From Darkness’ that has received much airplay on Jazz FM.

Cohen displays his rich cultural heritage with melodic jazz grooves and beautiful compositions, some in Hebrew.
