Jazz singer Alexander Stewart is setting out to make the follow up to his album ‘All or Nothing at All’ which features the much played cover of Sam Sparro’s ‘Black and Gold’. The Mancunian crooner has launched a ‘crowd funder’ with website Indiegogo this week for an ambitious new album project. Preproduction with musicians has been completed here in Britain and now plans are in place for the final stage, recording with an orchestra in Prague. According to his Indiegogo page Stewart claims this is something that is cost prohibitive here in Britain.

The album will feature full big band arrangements, orchestrated scores, and backing vocals, blending jazz, pop, Motown soul and original songs. It will hopefully see a release in the summer.

The target is £5000 and if met the money will fund the orchestra recording, studio hire, mixing, mastering and manufacturing. As with most crowd funders, varying incentives are included for contributors from signed copies of the new album, to a private living room concert.

Alexander Stewart has played sold out shows at Ronnie Scott’s and the Pizza Express Soho in London and has supported soul singer Dionne Warwick on her tour. Visit his Indiegogo page and get involved.
