Bristol quartet Get The Blessing are releasing their fifth album ‘Astronautilus’ on October 2, their third for the Naim Label. It was recorded in Cornwall in a remote coastal location. Their textures and electronics are present as we have come to expect but clearly the landscape and midnight beach rambles proved inspirational, manifesting pun laden titles and a darker, more subtle music from the stars, the sea and even fish. The album is dedicated to the late Ornette Coleman who’s music was the reason the band formed in 2000.

GTB are saxophonist Jake McMurchie, trumpeter Pete Judge, bassist Jim Barr a and drummer Clive Deamer. They played at this year’s Love Supreme Festival and will be supporting the album release with live dates including The Lantern in Bristol September 13 and Match & Fuse Festival in London October 16 (album launch.)
