He’s working with Eddie Piller on the label’s 30th anniversary
BAFTA and Emmy award-winning British actor Martin Freeman is curating a new jazz compilation. The beloved star of Sherlock and The Hobbit has teamed up with Eddie Piller, the founder of Acid Jazz for the release. His choices include hard bop from Lee Morgan and Art Blakey, screaming soul organ sounds from Jimmy Smith and the postmodern spiritual jazz of Kamasi Washington.
Released on March 23, it will be available on double CD and Vinyl with deluxe gatefold packaging. The famous label says this is the album that will launch Acid Jazz’s 30th Anniversary celebrations.
