The famous landmark Capitol Records Building on Vine Street in Los Angeles was recently bathed in blue light. This was in celebration of jazz label Blue Note Records partnership with high end wifi audio manufacturer Sonos for a new limited edition speaker, the Sonos + Blue Note PLAY:1.

54,000 watts of blue light took over one of Los Angeles’ most iconic sights just off the 101 freeway, with celebratory performances by the Grammy award-winning Robert Glasper Experiment and special guests including fellow Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

The new speaker celebrates Blue Note’s 75th anniversary with a colour scheme of dark navy to cerulean blue.
