£500 for Van The Man's luxury lyrics

Fans of Van Morrison looking to buy a new luxury compendium of his song lyrics will need to shell out £500. It's the first of his long career. 

‘Lit Up Inside: Selected Lyrics’, contains around a third of the songs from those he’s written. The publishers describe Morrison as, "one of the most innovative and enduring songwriters of the last century.”

The rather high price is because only 50 copies have been published and include Morrison's autograph, a print reproduction of hand-written lyrics, a calf-skin binding and gold foiled spine. For a slightly less eye watering cost of £150 there are 250 prints of of a limited edition luxury bound version boasting a signed page. However, the good news is that there is a more affordable hardback print of the book for £14.99 but you'll need to chase down Van The Man for his signature.

Morrison has racked up 75 million album sales in his career and bagged six Grammy awards. He has regularly visited his native Belfast recently, last year receiving the freedom of the city and putting on a show to celebrate. He returns to perform once again at Blues Fest at The Royal Albert Hall in London, Tuesday October 28th.
