The brother of ‘The King Of Swing’, the late Benny Goodman, has made a substantial donation of $13 million to a non profit organisation that supports orphaned and abandoned children. SOS Children’s Villages USA is receiving the gift from the trust of Harry and Carol Goodman.

Harry Goodman’s music publishing company called SEG owns music from jazz greats Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington, soul stars Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding, the Rolling Stones and others. The donation will be made up of cash and stocks.

SOS Children’s Villages works in over 130 countries helping over a million people every year, creating schools, medical centres and emergency relief programmes.
