Battling through tragedy and drug addiction, Bobby Womack was one of the great soul and R&B voices whose career spanned more than 60 years.

Starting his career with The Womack Brothers, Bobby finally found fame in the 1960s after an initially rocky career with the support of Sam Cooke and James Brown. Womack would become a consistent hitmaker in the R&B charts in the 1960s and 1970s.

Womack's fame was not only as a performer but as a great songwriter - writing the first big hit for the The Rolling Stones ‘All Over Now’ which Womack recorded with his brothers in the band The Valentinos.
