In a delightful surprise for music fans, Memphis legend Al Green has returned to the recording studio, unveiling a stirring new single: a soulful reimagining of R.E.M.’s 1992 classic, “Everybody Hurts.” Known for his velvety voice and timeless hits like “Let’s Stay Together” and “Love and Happiness,” Green once again proves his unparalleled ability to breathe new life into iconic songs.

This new rendition marks a significant reunion, as Green collaborated with members of the classic Hi Rhythm Section, the group behind many of his biggest hits in the 1970s. Joining him are Reverend Charles Hodges on organ, Leroy Hodges on bass, and Steve Potts, renowned for his work with Booker T. & The M.G.s.
