Bus driver suffers 'life threatening' injuries in Rothwell crash

A bus driver has suffered life threatening injuries after a crash in Rothwell, Leeds this lunchtime.

Police were called to Leadwell Lane following the collision between a bus and a Luton van at 12:10pm.

The bus then hit a nearby terraced house.

A number of passengers who were aboard the bus have also been treated for injuries.

The van failed to stop at the scene.

There's currently major traffic disruption in the area, with Leadwell Lane closed at the junction of Northfield Avenue and Stainton Lane.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
