A famous Leeds United mural has been saved following the collapse of a derelict building in Leeds city centre.

Emergency services were called to Kirkgate last Friday (April 12) after the collapse of the building, which had been damaged in a fire years before.

The mural - which reads "United We Stand" has stood since 2015 - when it was commissioned as part of a street art gallery.

The Leeds Civic Society has confirmed it has now been taken down and handed to the Leeds United Supporters Trust.

It is currently being stored for collection.
