Busy roads for Bingley during closure
Town's relief road is closed all weekend for maintenance works to a bridge
Heavy traffic's expected in Bingley this weekend, and next, as a stretch of the town's much used relief road is shut.
Maintenance works are taking place on the viaduct that carries the A650 Sir Fred Hoyle Way across the River Aire, behind the Mercure Bankfield Hotel.
That means the carriageway between Cottingley and the the town centre junction is shut this weekend (Fri 31 May 8pm - Mon 3 June 6am), with the other side closed next weekend (7-10 June).
It's predicted to cause big queues of traffic through the town centre, which have been rarely seen since the opening of the road in 2003.
