A man has been charged with an anti-Semitic hate crime over comments made during a speech at a pro-Palestine protest in Leeds.
65 year old Hichem Ben-Abdallah, of Moorland Avenue, Gildersome, has been charged with racially or religiously aggravated harassment by words or writing.
It's in relation to a speech made during opposing protests outside Leeds Art Gallery on May 11th this year, which were attended by 300-400 people.
West Yorkshire Police received a number of complaints in relation to the comments, which led to his arrest on May 18th.
Following liaison with the Crown Prosecution Service, he has been charged with the offence today and is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on September 17th.
