Forward Leeds, a drug and alcohol recovery charity is urging people to drink safely over the festive period.
It's after stats released by Drinkaware show almost two-thirds (64%) of UK drinkers intend to drink more alcohol over Christmas.
Forward Leeds tips include drinking at a slow pace, avoid rounds and eat before drinking alcohol.
James Barrie is a Service Manager at Forward Leeds and said: "Have a think about the detrimental impact that, that excess drinking might have on you. So, we're thinking about things like the impact on people's physical health, their mental wellbeing, their finances, how it can impact on things like family and relationships. "
Drinkaware's research highlights how young adults are twice as likely to feel pressure to drink from friends (31%) compared to all adults (16%). They will also have fewer drink free days 57% compared to 45% for all adults.
