Don't let being single on Valentine's Day get you down.
Don't let being single on Valentine's Day get you down.
Whether you decide to stay in or go out there are plenty of things you can do without a significant other.
1. Cinema
Going to the cinema doesn't need to be a romantic activity, even on Valentine's Day. Gather together a few single mates and watch a film that takes your fancy as there's no need to subject yourself to the rom-coms that will be around, why not go for a thriller, horror or action movie? If none of your friends are free don't let that stop you, go by yourself and there'll be no arguments over which film to watch. Win!
2. Treat Yourself
If you're by yourself this Valentine's evening then book yourself in for a haircut or spa treatment. This is the perfect activity to do along as you can't talk during a treatment anyway.
3. Gym
Was one of your New Year's resolutions to go to the gym? Take the opportunity to go on one of the quietest days of the year. Most people will probably be out so you'll have the run of the place.
4. Try something different
Bored with the gym? Why not try something a bit different like a roller skating session, bike ride or a walk. Although you can do these activities alone why not see if you have some friends who will join you? You never know you might find a new hobby you'd like to take up.
5. Singles dinner party
This year's Valentine's Day is a Tuesday, so a night out might not be on the cards, instead why not gather together a few friends for a dinner party? You could give it a theme or even try a Come Dine With Me style series of meals over the coming weeks.
6. Night in watching a boxset
Take the opportunity to get fully engrossed in a boxset, whether it's a totally new series or one that you've been wanting to finish off for a while. Sunday afternoons and evenings are perfect for this. Treat yourself to a food delivery and a bowl of popcorn and it's a relatively cheap alternative.
7. Catch up with a friend
These days it's too easy just to look on Facebook, when was the last time you actually spoke to an old friend on the phone? Take this opportunity to catch up with someone you haven't spoken to for a long time, you might be able to rekindle your friendship.
If you want to find the perfect match then why not give At Seven dating a go?
