A woman from Bath who was missing after a holiday on a Greek Island has been found dead in a remote area, her family have confirmed.

Susan Hart and her husband, Ed, were away on holiday when she disappeared on 30 April.

They were on a ferry trip to Tolendos from the island where they were staying, Kalymnos. Susan then reportedly left her to do some rock climbing with a friend while Susan planned to head off to a restaurant to wait for him.

When Ed came back from rock climbing, she was missing.

The 74-year-old lived with her husband in Switzerland for the past two decades, and Susan's family believed she could have been suffering with dementia.

Susan had three daughters, who had been been posting their appeal on social media to try and find her.

A private rescue team were called out on May 9, and they have also hired private divers as part of search efforts.

Ruth Landale, 45, told us the family are 'devastated' at the news.

Ms Hart's body is now going to be repatriated to Switzerland and Greek officials are expected to carry out a post-mortem examination.

A spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are providing consular assistance to the family of a British woman who has been reported missing in Greece and are in contact with the local authorities.”
