The UK Government is refusing to comment on speculation about GB Energy being based in Aberdeen.

There had been reports the publicly owned energy company was to be homed in the Granite City.

This led to MSPs calling for clarification from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero.

But, a DESNZ spokesperson said: "We do not comment on speculation. Decisions on Great British Energy's location will be announced in due course."

Labour has already confirmed GB Energy will be based in Scotland, will help create new jobs and help the country reach its net zero targets.
