Sir David Amess Fund launches in Southend West

The Fund will provide grants to amplify important local campaigns

Today, (December 14) the Sir David Amess Fund is being launched in Southend West, to honour the legacy of the late MP's campaigns.

Conservative Party Chairman, Richard Holden MP is being joined by Sir David's successor, Anna Firth MP, for the launch of the fund today.

Sir David was murdered on October 15th 2021, after being stabbed during a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea.

Ali Harbi Ali is currently serving a whole life sentence for his murder.

The fund was established at the Party Conference, and is open to all Conservative Members of Parliament, two of which, each year will receive a £5,000 grant to enhance their local campaigns.

The launch, and the fund, aims to commemorate the former MP by contributing to "positive change nationwide"

The Party Chairman has reached out to constituents across the country to ask them to reach out to their Conservative MPs, to share ideas for impactful local campaigns that will make a difference to their communities.
