Second teenager dies in fatal Shifnal collision
An 18-year-old man had previously been pronounced dead at the scene
A second teenager has died following a fatal car crash in the Shropshire village of Shifnal.
Officers were called to an incident taking place on Offoxey Road in Tong just before 11:15pm on Friday night (March 14th).
When responders from West Mercia Police arrived, they found that a collision had taken place involving a silver Audi A1.
An 18-year-old man - who had been in the car at the time of the crash was sadly pronounced dead at the scene following the incident.
Three other people who were in the car when the vehicle crashed were taken to hospital with serious injuries shortly afterwards.
However, it was confirmed on Sunday (March 16th) that a second person, a 17-year-old boy has since succumbed to his injuries following the crash.
The remaining two occupants of the car currently remain in hospital being treated for their serious injuries.
According to the force, another 17-year-old who sustained life-threatening injuries remains in a critical condition, while a third, also aged 17, remains in a stable condition, despite also receiving life-threatening injuries.
The families of those affected as a result of the crash have appealed to the media and the public for privacy while the investigation remains underway.
West Mercia Police have since appealed for more information regarding the crash, and have urged anyone with information that could help in their investigations to come forward as soon as possible.
