Thieves have stolen the winner's medals of the man described by Sir Alex Ferguson as "the most influential person" in the Premier League.

Steve Walsh's Lancashire home was raided in the early hours of Monday morning.

Walsh was an integral part of Leicester City's rise from League One to Premier League title success, and his medal haul for winning League One, The Championship and the Premier League with one club has only been matched by his colleague Craig Shakespeare and player Andy King.

All three medals were taken by the thieves, and his family are appealing for the public's help to see them returned.

Appeal for help

Walsh's daughter took to social media to ask for help in getting the items returned. A Special Edition Leicester City watch was also taken during the break-in at the house in Chorley, Lancashire.

She went on to say: "The family will not be issuing any further statement, we simply ask that you share as far and wide as possible to help us trace these precious items and safely return them to our family."

The "most influential person" in the Premier League

Walsh has a reputation for identifying and signing talented players that other clubs have overlooked. He brought the likes of N'Golo Kante, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez to Leicester City, and earlier worked as a recruitment scout for Chelsea FC and Newcastle United.

After leaving Leicester City, he took on the role of Director of Football at Everton Football Club.
