Kent Police arrest five men following serious assault on Isle of Sheppey

The victim currently remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital

Kent Police have arrested five men in connection with the serious assault of a man on the Isle of Sheppey.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on the junction of Minster Road and Sunnyside Avenue in the town of Minster-on-Sea just before 11:50pm on Friday (December 20th).

Police had been told by those reporting the incident that a man in his 20s had been found unconscious after he and two of his friends got into a fight with another group of men.

It is believed that the second group of men had been armed with baseball bats when the attack occurred, with the man sustaining serious injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital in London where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

Five men have now been arrested in connection with the investigation, with the group members' ages ranging from 18 to 42. It is believed the group is from the local area, as they remain in police custody.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing are Kent Police are now appealing for information and witnesses following the attack to come forward.

Specifically, the police are looking to speak to anyone who might have seen an earlier confrontation between the men within the Highlander pub on High Street in Minster at some point between 9:30pm and 11:30pm.
