Officers from GMP have responded to reports of a stabbing in Greater Manchester.

Crews were called to Debdale Lane in Gorton at around 9:30pm last night (Friday 26 April 2024).

The victim, a 22-year-old man, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening after receiving treatment at hospital.

No arrests have been made at this time, but detectives are continuing with an investigation to locate the suspect, with additional local patrols in place.

Detective Inspector Jonny Dyer from our City of Manchester North district said, “Following the incident being reported to us, we have made a number of enquiries to fully understand what happened and ensure we locate the suspect.

“Despite the shock this will understandably raise in the local area, we are determined to keep our communities safe, that is why our officers remain nearby to offer a visible and reassuring presence, as well as being able to speak to you about any concerns you have.

“Anyone with information that could help us in our enquiries, however small, including any eyewitnesses accounts, CCTV or doorbell footage should call 0161 856 0044 direct or 101 quoting incident 3399 of 26/04/2024. Alternatively, you can call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
