Three arrested after reports of dangerous driving in Middlesborough

Three teenage boys aged 13, 14 and 15 have been arrested after a pursuit involving a car being driven dangerously in Thornaby and Middlesbrough.

The car was seen numerous times in recent days in the area, being driven in a manner which has posed a risk to the public.

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop, Aggravated Taking Without Consent (TWOC), Fail to Provide and Going Equipped to steal. The 14- and 13-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of Aggravated Vehicle Taking.

All remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Sergeant Laura Black from Matrix, said: “Matrix officers have worked hard to ensure we could safely take this vehicle off the roads and find those responsible for driving the vehicle in a manner which put other road users at risk.

“We will continue to ensure we protect people and protect communities – and this includes all road users. Anyone we find to be breaking the law on the roads of Teesside and putting others a risk will find themselves being targeted by Matrix.”
