Car struck by a train on a level crossing near Redcar

Rail services have been disrupted after a car was struck by a train on a level crossing.

British Transport Police said no-one was injured in the collision near Redcar, Cleveland, at around 9.25am on Wednesday.

Inquiries were continuing into what happened.

Rail operator Northern said trains between Middlesbrough and Saltburn have been cancelled and bus replacements were running between those stations.
