Enter the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge
We want to help YOU get more young people active!
Are you ready to energise your community and get more children involved in sport? Cash for Kids and Tees Million are calling on grassroots sports groups across Teesside to join our unique fundraising competition!
Sports Challenge is about breaking down barriers to sport for children and young people facing disadvantage or disability, so we’re on the lookout for groups that can make a real impact.
Up to 30 groups will be selected and have from 14th September to 14th October to raise as much as they can, but don’t worry – they won’t be doing it alone! Cash for Kids will be by their side every step of the way offering expert fundraising advice and a full set of materials to help them succeed, so everyone taking part will gain valuable skills to boost their future fundraising efforts too!
And here's the best part – all groups get to keep 100% of the funds they raise PLUS we have up to £87,000 of prizes and match-funding up for grabs!
The 30 finalist groups will be split into two pools (50 members or less and over 50 members), then on top of what they raise the top three fundraising groups in each pool will receive (subject to having raised at least £1,750):
🥇 1st Place - £5,000 🥇
🥈 2nd Place - £4,000 🥈
🥉 3rd Place - £3,000 🥉
All other finalists will receive match-funding of up to £2,500, PLUS there's also three special awards in both pools of £500 each which could go to any group - the Teamwork Award, the Sports Challenge Champion Award and the Judge's Choice Award!
Extended entry period - applications are now open until midday on Monday 9th September. Please read the challenge terms and conditions before entering.

Funding Partner: Tees Million
Tees Million from Tees Foundation provides £1 million of accessible funding for the community of Teesside, every year. The fundamental aim is to get the money directly to those who are making a difference, wherever and whenever it is needed.
We’ve been managing and distributing the kindness and generosity of local people and businesses here for more than 35 years, and our community project grant funding creates significant opportunities for charities and groups to further their purpose and make a difference. Our funds help to reach individuals or communities that might not otherwise be reached; they help to support groups during tough times, such as the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis and in some cases, it can be the difference between a much-loved and needed small group existing and not.
