Schools in Bognor temporarily closed their doors after police received a report of a man seen with a suspected firearm in Frith Road at around 11.10am today (22nd October).

Due to the close proximity of local schools, officers advised them to implement temporary lockdown procedures while a search of the area was carried out.

All schools have since reopened.

A wider police search is ongoing in the area, including armed officers, and a visible police presence will remain in Frith Road.

Officers are asking anyone who may have information or footage that could help the investigation to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting reference 450 of 22/10.
