Witness appeal after man squirted with 'acid-like substance' in Newmarket

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Newmarket man was assaulted and squirted with an 'acid like substance' earlier this month.

It happened between 9pm and 10pm in The Avenue on September 8.

The victim was attacked by a man holding a syringe, who squirted a liquid onto his arm before pushing him against a wall.

He suffered cuts to his face and burn marks to his arm.

The assailant is described as a white man, who is slim and around 5ft 4in tall with short dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and dark jogging trousers.
