A vigil has been held in Colchester in memory of a University of Suffolk lecturer whose death is being treated as a murder.

People gathered to lay flowers at Abbey Fields last night and to remember 52 year old Dr Antonella Castelvedere, who taught English Literature in Ipswich.

She was found fatally injured at a home in Colchester on June 1.

50 year old Ertan Ersoy, of Wickham Road, is accused of her murder. He's been remanded in custody

Friends and colleagues spoke at the vigil to pay tribute to Dr Castelvedere, who's been described as a 'widely respected and well-liked member of staff' and an 'an outstanding academic in English and Critical Writing.'
