Two more bird flu outbreaks confirmed in Suffolk
Exclusion zones have been put in place after the virus was found in birds in Redgrave and Market Weston.
Two further outbreaks of bird flu have been confirmed amongst flocks of poultry in Suffolk, bringing the total number of outbreaks in the county to four.
Over the weekend (March 11/12) two more cases of avian influenza (H5N1) were confirmed in flocks near Redgrave and Market Weston.
The outbreak at Redgrave is among a flock of 19,200 ducks, with the Market Weston outbreak is linked to a flock of around 700 ducks and around 60 chickens.
All birds on both sites have been culled.
Suffolk Trading Standards says its doing all it can to contain the virus and has established 3km protection zones around both of the affected premises.
Officers from local councils and Trading Standards are also carrying out patrols in the area to raise awareness about the outbreaks.
Bird keepers are being urged to keep a close eye on their flocks for signs of disease.
