Two men arrested after serious sexual assault in Ipswich

Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Ipswich.

Suffolk Police say at 3:50am on Sunday 1st September, officers on patrol in the town centre came across a woman who reported that she has been assaulted by two men in St Stephen's Church Lane.

Officers went searching for the suspects, and arrested two men in connection with the incident.

The pair were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.

The victim is being supported by specially trained officers, and now police are urgently asking anyone with further information on the incident to come forward.
