Three released on bail after teenagers seen carrying weapons in Ipswich

Police were granted extra stop and search powers after the incident on Saturday.

Three people who were arrested after a group of teenagers were spotted carrying weapons in Ipswich on Saturday have been released on bail.

Police were called to Woodbridge Road East at around 10pm, after reports of a group of around 10 armed young people heading towards Spring Road.

The group had left the area by the time police arrived, but officers were later granted addtional stop and search powers as they attempted to trace the suspects.

Two 17 year old boy were later detained on suspicion of affray and possession of a knife, while a 14 year old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray.

All are now out on bail until later this year.
