Teenage boy admits attempted murder after Benhall stabbing

A teenage boy has admitted attempted murder after a stabbing in Benhall near Saxmundham during which a teenage girl was seriously injured.

The victim was found on grass close to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green on October 2 and was taken to Ipswich Hospital.

The 17 year old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a blade.

He admitted both charges at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday (January 18).

The boy has now been remanded in custody ahead of a sentencing hearing on March 10.
